If the footage gets split:


- Go to Window, Arrange and then click standard.

TIPS: 


- Create folders for more organised footage.
- Final Cut Pro > Easy Setup > Apple Intermediate Codec > HDV > Rate 29.97 > Setup
- Final Cut Pro > System Settings > Scratch Disks > Set to Hard Drive
